Apple releases Apple TV 6.1 Software Update; makes it easier to hide channels

Alongside the iOS 7.1 update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, Apple today also released Apple TV 6.1 Software Update, adding the ability to easily hide channels. With the update, you can hide channels on your Apple TV by navigating to Settings > Main Menu and selecting or deselecting a channel in the list to hide or unhide it. Previously, hiding channels on the Apple TV required you to use the Parental Control settings, which was more of a “hack” rather than an actual feature. As rumors about the Apple Television continue to spread, Apple’s busy adding more channels to the Apple TV, making the hide channels feature even more important. In the past few months, Apple has added many new Apple TV channels including iTunes Festival, ESPN, WWE, ABC, and Bloomberg. You can update your Apple TV software to version 6.1 by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update. Let us know in the comments if you noticed any other changes in the update.
