Add iCloud Tabs to your Mac’s Menu Bar with CloudyTab

iCloud Tab sync is a really useful feature, but it isn’t as useful for those who use Chrome or Firefox on the Mac and Safari on the iPhone or iPad. CloudyTabs is a new, free Mac app made for these people. It lets you access your iCloud Tabs from your Mac’s menu bar. Cloudy Tabs lives in your menu bar as a cloud icon, and clicking on it brings a list of all your iCloud tabs categorised based on the device they are currently opened in. Clicking on any of these tabs opens it in your default browser, and if you ⌘ + click on them, the tab will open in the background. Typing the first few letters of a tab’s title will take you to that tab. If you’re a Chrome or Firefox user on your Mac, but use Safari on your iOS device, this tool is really great as Apple shows your iCloud tabs only in Safari. Cloudy Tabs is an open source project on GitHub, and since it reads from a plist file that stores iCloud tabs locally, it can’t be submitted to the Mac App Store. To install, download this file, unzip it and copy it to your Applications folder. [via MacStories] Continue reading
