Rovio announces Angry Birds Stella with female lead

After dropping a hint about a new adventure for Angry Birds, Rovio today announced Angry Birds Stella, the upcoming addition to its Angry Bird franchise. The next title in the series features female lead Stella and her lady friends in a new Angry Birds universe.Described as fun and adventurous, the new universe will offer the same Angry Birds gameplay, but with a distinct female theme that’ll highlight “inspiration, empowerment and other real issues.” “Angry Birds Stella is breaking the mold by introducing strong, passionate characters who really stand for something, while adding plenty of action and reality into the mix”, said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio Entertainment. “The Angry Birds Stella story will live and evolve across physical and digital, bridging them in fun and innovative ways. Stella and her friends are here to stay, with plenty of adventures ahead of them.” Angry Birds Stella will be a big launch for Rovio, debuting across multiple product categories like games, toys, books and more.
