Apple is the ‘Most Admired’ company for the seventh straight year

Apple has successfully retained its title of being the ‘Most Admired’ company in the U.S., followed by the likes of Amazon, Google and Berkshire Hathaway. This is the company’s seventh consecutive title, so there’s a lot to celebrate for the folks at Cupertino. This list is published annually by Fortune and Apple’s inclusion for the seventh straight year is no surprise given the company’s resurgence over the years despite severe competition in the industry. While Apple retained its top spot, the top 10 was full of changes as Coca-Cola slipped to 6th and Walt Disney to 7th. Most notably, Amazon overtook Google to jump to the 2nd place. This list consisted of 50 companies in the country, which were chosen from over 1,400 companies. Wireless carrier AT&T made it to the list marginally at No. 50, while its rival Verizon was nowhere to be seen. The top 10 list looks something like this: Apple Amazon Google Berkshire Hathaway Starbucks Coca Cola Walt Disney FedEx Southwest Airlines General Electric Notably, one of Apple’s popular industry rival Samsung Electronics was at an unconvincing 21st position in terms of customer admiration. Fortune makes this annual list after conducting a survey among top analysts, industry experts, board directors and other executives, so the metric used in its survey is pretty fair.
