Honda unveils new Display Audio, HondaLink and Siri Eyes Free tech for its 2014 automobiles

Honda is making the connected car even more of a reality with its new Display Audio touchscreen technology that’ll debut in the 2014 Honda Civic and eventually land in the 2015 Fit. The Display Audio interface is a 7-inch in-dash touchscreen display that’ll allow drivers to access audio, phonebook, media and other vehicle information using familiar touchscreen gestures. Honda’s app platform, HondaLink, will take advantage of this touchscreen and will pipe navigation information, social media updates, news and more the touchscreen display. At launch HondaLink will support the iPhone 5, 5S and 5C. Siri Eyes Free will also play nice with the Display Audio interface allowing users to talk to Siri using a “Talk” button on the steering wheel. Display Audio is notable as it is Honda’s first factory installed example of Siri Eyes Free technology. Siri Eyes Free is also available in the 2013 -2014 Honda Accord and 2013 Acura RDX and ILX, but it is installed as a dealer add-on. Continue reading
