To create this map, Mobile Unlocked used the base 16GB model as it standard for comparison because that model is the most popular model worldwide. Because of differences in currency and exchange rates. MobileUnlocked calculated a relative value based on the price of the phone as compared to the national GDP per capita. Not surprisingly, the results show that the iPhone 5s is most expensive in China where it is 9.55% of the average GDP. It is least expensive in the US, where it costs only 1.15% of the GDP.
