First Mac Pro units start arriving before Christmas

Yesterday, some early buyers of the Mac Pro started receiving shipping notices that their units were leaving the hands of Apple and heading to their doorsteps. A few lucky buyers were fortunate enough to have their Mac Pro land on their doorsteps today. As reported by MacRumors, at least one forum member received their Mac Pro today. This particular customer reportedly lived on the West Coast and selected Next Day shipping. The unit was scheduled to arrive on December 26th, but Fedex was fast and dropped the unit on their doorstep today. Thus far, all Mac Pro units en route to customers are stock configurations. People who ordered custom versions that upped the processor, RAM or storage are expected to receive their Mac Pros sometime in January. Customers who order today must wait until February to receive their Mac Pro units . The new Mac Pro starts at $2999 for a desktop with a 3.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor, 12GB of RAM, Dual AMD FirePro D300 with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM each and 256GB PCIe flash storage.
