A day in the life of a skeuomorphic iPhone is cleverly captured on film

A day in the life of a skeuomorphic iPhone is cleverly captured on film

Nobody bothered to tell London-based university students Carrie Bale, Doug Hindson and Jooyoung Ry that skeuomorphism is out and flat design is in. It’s a good thing, too. Otherwise, we would never have seen Skew, a gem of a video created by this trio. The one-minute clip kicks off with the all too familiar wake-up call and ends with the setting of the alarm at the end of the day. It’s a cute look at a typical day in the life of an iPhone and in our life, too. As you can surmise, the video gets it name from “Skeuomorph’, a method of design in which an object is made to resemble another material. In this video, the handmade iPhone takes the shape of a real iPhone with iOS and is meant to represent the humdrum aspects of everyday life. When you are done watching the clip above, check out a second video from Doug Hindson that shows how he and his fellow students made the video. [Via TUAW and Design Taxi] Continue reading
