OpenEmu, an open source video game emulator, launches on the Mac

OpenEmu, an open source project that brings video game emulation to the Mac, has officially launched version 1.0 of their software. Unlike other emulators which are ported to the Mac, OpenEmu was designed from the ground up for the Mac. Besides a wide variety of ROM retro gaming starter packs that you can download, the OpenEmu software also allows you to import your own game backups and organizes your titles on your behalf. Conveniently, the software places your game into the right library and adds the original box art. Contollers often make or break a game, which is why OpenEmu supports any generic HID compliant USB or Bluetooth game controller. The app recognizes the controller and maps the controls so you don’t have to. You can download OpenEmu for free from the OpenEmu.org website for free. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments. Continue reading
