Tony Fadell, father of the iPod, is the winner of Ive’s and Newson’s (RED) auction

The (RED) auction hosted by Apple’s SVP of design Jony Ive and industrial designer Marc Newson was a smashing success, raising over $12 million for charity. Two of the hottest items were a red Mac Pro and a set of gold EarPods designed by Ive and Newson. The buyer who purchased these items remained anonymous until now.Based on a series of tweets from Kevin Abosch, it appears that the buyer is none other than Tony Fadell, the father of the iPod and the founder of Nest. Fadell brought his prized devices for Abosch to see and he tweeted some photos of Fadell with the devices. According to Abosch, Fadell is trying to hacks his lovely red Mac Pro. It Fadell is indeed the buyer, he paid almost $1.5 million for the pair of devices.
