Samsung is allegedly looking to expand its retail efforts in the US and is seeking help from a former senior Apple store designer to get things kickstarted.According to a report in The Information, Samsung’s US telecom unit is supposedly hiring Tim Grudgel, formerly from Apple, to help it expand its retail footprint. Grudgel allegedly has expertise in store design, architecture and planning. Right now, Samsung’s retail presence in the US is comprised of mini-stores inside of Best Buy retail locations in the US. Samsung could be following in the footsteps of Apple and Microsoft, both of which operate stand-alone retail stores for product sales and support. Though its retail presence is not strong in the US, Samsung does operate its own stores overseas. Besides its home country of Korea, Samsung also has stores in Australia and other mini-stores throughout Europe. [Via Apple Insider] Continue reading
