iOS Hacker and developer, Hamza Sood has just released a new jailbreak tweak for iOS 7 called LiveWeatherIcon. The tweak as the name suggests transforms the Weather icon on your iPhone to display the current weather, just like the animation Clock icon displays the current time in iOS 7. This means that you don’t have to launch the weather app to check the local weather, you will be able to get a quick summary just by looking at the icon. So for example: it displays the current temperature, and if it is partly cloudy, it will overlay the text on the icon and also change the icon to show that it is cloudy. After you install the tweak, it automatically transforms the weather icon on your iPhone to display the current weather. I have just installed the tweak so it’s not clear at what interval the icon is updated with the latest weather information, and what impact it has on battery life. I’ll update the post with those details shortly. LiveWeatherIcon is available on Cydia for $1. It requires iOS 7, and works fine on iPhone 5s as well.
