Apple kicks off in-store program to repair iPhone 5c displays

Sources have confirmed to AppleInsider that Apple is now fixing broken iPhone 5c screens as in-store repair. The repair service started with the iPhone 5 last year and was rumored to extend to the iPhone 5c this week. It’ll cost $149 per screen for the repair. Customers with a broken iPhone 5c screen can visit an Apple Store, where a technician trained in the process will repair the display using a special calibration machine. An employee talking to AppleInsider describes the procedure as “bringing China to the Genius Room.” The iPhone 5c repair service is available only in the US. There is chatter that it may debut in the UK soon, but this expansion is still speculation. Continue reading
