Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Apple is loosening its policies on iPhone trade-ins. Instead of automatically rejecting an iPhone because its water damage indicator is tripped, the company is now accepting these water damaged iPhones for trade-in. This new policy went into effect on Monday. These changes, reported by 9to5mac, will expand the trade-in program at a time when interest in the iPhone and iPad will be at its highest. Apple just launched two new iPhone models and two new iPad models right at the beginning of the biggest shopping season of the year. With this new policy, customers with an older device that’s taken a plunge will be able to turn in the phone for credit to buy a new one for themselves or a loved one. These changes will take effect in the US and the UK immediately. They will apply to any phone that has encountered water as long as the ports are not corroded and there is no liquid under the display. Do you have a wet iPhone?
