Video: Apple’s First Turkish Store opens in Istanbul

As expected, Apple’s first retail store in Turkey has opened at Istanbul’s fashionable Zorlu Center. The design of the Turkish Apple Store on the front is very similar to the iconic 5th Avenue store in New York City. The roof is made up of monolithic glass in the shape of a cube with Apple logo on the top. There’s also a decorative pool of water between the glass and the surface as you can see from the images below. Underneath this gorgeous roof is a two-storey complex. According to ifoapplestore, the grand opening was greeted by around 450 people. Gary Allen of ifoapplestore who attended the opening at Istanbul points out something interesting about the upper level floor: Startlingly, the upper level floor noticeably bounces with the weight of people moving in the store. The bounce was especially obvious as store employees were dancing in a line as they welcomed the first visitors. But anyone standing still in the middle of the upper-level space could feel the movement during quiet periods, too. Check out the videos of the grand opening below: Continue reading
