Switchr is a New Tweak That Brings the Original Auxo to iOS 7

While Auxo 2 may be impressive, some prefer the look and feel of the original Auxo over the crazy new tricks of its second iteration. A new tweak by the name of Switchr looks very similar to the original Auxo and has almost identical functionality, but has been restyled to fall in place with the visual appearance of iOS 7. This multitasking replacement comes by way of jailbreak developer iOSMartin, known for tweaks such as NCBattery and NowPlayingStatusBar. This tweak, though, may be his most daring endeavor yet, remaking what is probably one of the most popular tweaks of all time. With Switchr, double tap the home button to display the multitasking app switcher. This switcher looks exactly like the original Auxo, and displays along the bottom of your screen with a small screenshot preview of the currently running app with the app’s icon attached to the bottom. Also like Auxo, you can swipe to the left to find music controls. From that page, just swipe to the left again to access Control Center-like settings toggles. The settings toggles page by default shows more than a dozen toggles, but you have to swipe up and down to navigate through them. The icons placed at the top level by default are Airplane Mode, Bluetooth, Orientation Lock, and a small icon for the torch (flash). The tweak includes many settings to customize various parts of how it works. You can choose which screen (Switcher, Media, or Toggles) of Switchr you would like to appear when you first double-tap the home button. Also, you can use the settings page to edit how the tweak appears visually, including the screenshot corner radius and the duration of animation when opening the tweak. As you might expect, you can also find a settings panel for choosing which toggles you want to have active. To run Switchr, you need to have an iOS 7 device that’s jailbroken using the evasi0n7 tool. Once you’re sure your device is jailbroken and compatible, head to Cydia and search for the tweak; it’s available for $2 on the BigBoss repo. What do you think of Switchr? Do you prefer it over Auxo 2? Continue reading
