Safari for OS X Mavericks updated with improved push notifications, security fixes

Apple on Tuesday released a new version of Safari for the Mac that includes improved push notifications and new security features for OS X Mavericks users. The biggest improvement in Safari 7.0.3 is the addition of a new push notification option that allows users to easily turn off the feature. Other changes noted in the changelog include: Fixes an issue that could cause the search and address field to load a webpage or send a search term before the return key is pressed Improves credit card autofill with websites Fixes an issue that could block receipt of push notifications from websites Adds a preference to turn off push notification prompts from websites Adds support for webpages with generic top-level domains Strengthens Safari sandboxing Fixes security issues, including several identified in recent security competitions The update is available for OS X Mavericks users as a free download from the Mac App Store. Apple also released Safari 6.1.3 for Mac owners running older OS X versions. Continue reading
