Here’s a comparison of Samsung Galaxy S5 and iPhone 5s’ fingerprint scanners

When Samsung launched the Galaxy S5 with a fingerprint scanner, it was almost obvious that comparisons will be made with the iPhone 5s, which was in a way the first handset to really take fingerprint sensing technology to the next level. Now, a new video has surfaced which compares the sensors on both the handsets revealing why the iPhone 5s is the real winner. The video covers all aspects of the scanners on both the devices, right from the setting up part to the actual usability. It is said that the fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S5 requires more effort to register touch effectively, as it is based on a swipe sensor and not a touch sensor like the one Apple uses with the iPhone 5s. Another advantage the iPhone 5s has over the Galaxy S5 is that it can scan your finger from a variety of angles. This essentially means that you can unlock the handset from basically any orientation you want, irrespective of the device’s positioning. Even though Touch ID wasn’t exactly perfect when it was first launched, Apple has ensured that it remains the best in the business thanks to updates fixing some minor glitches which surfaced during its early days. Samsung is promoting the PayPal authentication support out of the box which is a neat feature to have.
