Apple updates iWork versions for iCloud, iOS and OS X

Shortly after the launch of Microsoft office for the iPad, Apple now is updating its productivity suite, adding some significant improvements to compete with Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint. The update extends to iWork for iCloud as well as the OS X and iOS versions, as reported by 9to5Mac. The biggest changes were made to the iCloud version of the apps, with Pages, Numbers and Keynote refreshed a new design that adds support for Retina displays. Also new is the ability to open documents directly from iCloud mail as well as share view-only version of the documents. Other changes to the individual apps include new templates in Pages, improved pop-up menus in Numbers and the option to edit charts in imported Keynote documents.
