Apple’s Retina iPad mini is now available as a less expensive refurbished model in Apple’s online store reports 9to5Mac. This is the first time the new iPad has been available as a refurbished model. Current inventory shows only the WiFi-only model as being in stock, but it is likely the cellular models will follow soon. Available retina models include the 16, 32 and 64GB capacities in silver and space grey. The 16GB model is discounted 15% off the list price with a lower entry-level price of $339. These refurbished devices are sold with Apple’s standard one-year warranty and are considered to be “like new” by customers who have bought other refurbished models. If you need more than a one-year warranty, you can purchase AppleCare+ , which extends the warranty to two-years and adds in accidental damage. Apple debuted the iPad Mini with Retina display late last year and faced supply constraints at launch. The tablet includes a 7.9-inch display with 2048×536 resolution, Apple’s A7 chip with M7 motion coprocessor, and 802.11n WiFi with MIMO technology. Continue reading
