Twitter for iOS updated with inline photos and Vine videos

Twitter for iOS updated with inline photos and Vine videos

Twitter today announced an update to its iOS app with in-line photos, Vine videos and retweet and reply buttons, so as to make the Twitter timeline “more visual” and require minimal taps to interact with tweets. Notably, tweets with images now do not show the image URL at all, but simply show the tweet text with an embedded image. So if you tweet a photo with no text, it’ll simply show up as an image, with nothing else in the call. The update also includes favorite, retweet and reply buttons right on the timeline, so you no longer need to swipe to reveal more options or enter the tweet detail view to perform these actions. Here are the release notes for the update: This update includes enhancements to Tweets in the home timeline. Be a part of the moment. - Tweets with Twitter photos, Vine videos, and other select content now show a preview in your home timeline. Tap the image to reveal the full screen version. Tweet a picture without text, and let the image say it all. Joining the conversation just got easier. You can reply, retweet, favorite, or follow someone straight from a Tweet in your home timeline. If you don’t like these changes, you can turn them off from the in-app Settings’ Image Previews toggle. (The Settings are accessible by tapping the gear icon in the “Me” tab.)
