Apple selling OS X Lion and Mountain Lion via its online store

Though OS X Mavericks will run on older machines, it may not be a perfect fit. Apple realizes there a lot of folks with older Macs who may not want to upgrade to OS X Mavericks. As a result, the company is still offering both OS X Lion and Mountain Lion in the Mac App Store and now in its online store. The retail versions of Lion and Mountain Lion being sold on Apple’s website are not boxed copies as you would expect. Instead, Apple is selling a promotional code that can be redeemed in the Mac App Store. Once the code has been accepted, the operating system will begin to download immediately. If you find that you need a copy of OS X Lion or Mountain Lion, you can now choose to shop at Apple’s online store and buy it alongside your new iPad. Continue reading
