Apple hints at iWork for iCloud update in “Just a few short hours” ahead of today’s event

At WWDC in June, Apple introduced iWork for iCloud, a web based version of Apple’s productivity tools, Numbers, Pages and Keynote, that run in a browser. Although iWork for iCloud was open to everyone, it was in beta, and Apple plans to bring it out of beta at today’s event, as hinted in a banner on iCloud.com. The banner on the Pages for iCloud website says: We’re updating Pages for for iCloud! In just a few short hours, you’ll be able to create and edit documents, and enjoy great new features. There are similar banners on the Numbers and Keynote for iCloud websites as well. Apple says these features for Pages for iCloud are currently unsupported, and the company plans to add them soon, possibly in today’s final release: Sending a link to a document Version history Editing charts and tables Support for additional browsers Printing Apart from these features, it’s likely that Apple will apply the iOS 7 design language to iWork for iCloud, to maintain uniformity with other iCloud portals, which have already been updated with the new look. Notably, iWork for iCloud will be free to all iCloud users, and will not only be available on Mac, but on Windows as well. [via MacRumors] Continue reading
